Our Sustainability Policy
We, as GÜR ROYAL Hotel, take full responsibility for ILO Standards and respect human rights with waste management, natural resource use, informing employees about health, safety and child protection issues and recognizing equal rights on this long path we have taken in order to minimize the effects of tourism on our environment. We believe that our work on integrating with the community we are in and taking part in solving social problems will contribute to ensuring sustainability in tourism.
We believe that the economical use of natural resources and the effective management of these resources are very important for ensuring the sustainability of tourism. With the practices we have implemented in the field of environment, we aim to be an exemplary business in the hospitality sector.
Our aim is to provide benefits to the communities we serve through high quality service, economic growth, environmental protection, social participation and, of course, employment by complying with all applicable environmental laws, statutes and regulations. We will determine our goals and objectives related to the environment, continuously improve our environmental performance and minimize the effects of our activities on the environment. We will create awareness about the environment among our employees, guests, suppliers and society in general. Dec.
Within the scope of this policy, our application main headings are listed below;
1- Planning and creation of the framework
* Appointment of a personnel with the knowledge to carry out the necessary applications as the manager responsible for environmental management,
* Ensuring that one staff member from each unit becomes environmentally conscious,
• It is the recording of progress by measuring the water and electricity consumed by the guests.
2- To increase the training of personnel and environmental awareness
* To organize a training program for sustainability of all hotel staff,
* To strengthen the awareness of the staff with regular meetings and feedbacks,
* To motivate the staff by creating competition,
• To continue refreshing trainings and to continue to share the results with the staff as the program progresses.
3- Environmental management
* To decide which ones to use by putting forward management alternatives and to determine the effects of the hotel on the environment,
• To control and continuously supervise the consumption of high energy and water consuming units,
* To follow the progress at regular intervals such as daily, weekly, December depending on the consumption and volume,
* To set short- and long-term goals and to activate corrective actions when the goals are not achieved,
* To cooperate with other hotels and business circles in order to raise environmental standards in the destination or region where the hotel operates,
* To inform the guests about the hotel's environmental policy.
4- The Purchase Process
* To prefer sustainable products,
* Choosing to buy from local manufacturers,
* To prefer seasonal and local products when buying,
* Reduce packaging costs by buying in as many quantities as possible,
* To prefer fair trade and eco-labeled products,
* Not to sell to guests the products of protected creatures and products whose trade is prohibited.
5- Increasing cooperation with local people
* Ensuring that local people also benefit from the activities carried out,
* To prefer the services offered by local people,
* To employ local people,
* To support projects that will develop local people.
6- Protection of the destination
* To support cultural heritage and nature conservation projects,
* To exhibit art and handicraft products produced by local people,
* To warn the guests about the culture of the region and the behaviors that will be appropriate in the region,
* To prevent pollution and noise,
* To promote appropriate means of transportation to reduce energy consumption and emissions.
7- Energy
* To determine the areas where energy and fuel usage are intensive,
* To determine the personnel who will collect energy data,
* To save energy with small changes to be made,
* Maintaining all devices and making sure that they work effectively,
* Choosing alternative products that consume less energy,
* To constantly monitor the environmental performance of the hotel and to set realistic goals according to the results.
8- Water Usage
* To determine the areas where water is consumed the most and to determine how to reduce consumption,
* To save water with small changes to be made,
* To eliminate leaks immediately by checking pipes and taps regularly,
* To install water filters and devices to reduce water consumption in the hotel's kitchen, bathrooms and other areas in the rooms.
9- Waste Management
* Waste; paper, plastic, glass, etc. separate like,
* To investigate the amount of waste and their reuse,
* To prepare a waste management plan and to follow the results,
• To apply waste water treatment methods.
